Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of noninvasive mechanical ventilation (NIPPV) for Acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) combined with disturbance of consciousness.
Methods 48 cases of AECOPD combined with disturbance of consciousness patients in our hospital were randomly divided into research group and control group, 24 cases each group. Research group were treated with NIPPV treatment, while control group were treated with intermittent positive pressure ventilation(IPPV) treatment. Quality of patients was assessed with SF-36 scale. The respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen partial pressure, carbon dioxide partial pressure, pH of blood and adverse reactions rate of two groups were compared.
Results There is no significant difference in respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen partial pressure, carbon dioxide partial pressure, pH of blood before treatment between two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen partial pressure, carbon dioxide partial pressure of research group were better than control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the SF-36 scale score of research groups was higher than control group (P<0.05). There is no significant difference between the two groups in adverse reactions rate (P>0.05).
Conclusion NIPPV has exact effect for AECOPD combined with disturbance of consciousness patients. It could improve patients′respiratory index such as respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen partial pressure, carbon dioxide partial pressure. It′s worthy of wildly used.
